Chance Eakin

Chance_EakinBass-baritone Chance Eakin’s recent roles include numerous credits with the Butler Opera Center, including Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd) in 2014, as well as Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Harry Hopkins (Hagen’s A Woman in Morocco; world premiere) in 2013. With Austin Lyric Opera, he was seen in outreach performances as Dr. Dulcamara (The Elixir of Love) in 2014 and Tonio (I Pagliacci) in 2012. Other operatic engagements include Amantio (Gianni Schicchi) with Aspen Opera Theater Center in 2013 and Marullo (Rigoletto) with Opera Saratoga in 2012. In addition, he enjoys frequent concert and recital appearances, especially the works of American composers. Originally from Central Texas, Chance received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Baylor University before pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Most recently, he completed doctoral coursework at the University of Texas at Austin.
