Is this the same Ben and Carol that owned a California company called Beach Manufacturing? If yes, I would like to let you know that I have often thought of you both since leaving California and moving to Indiana.
I hope you are all doing well.

I worked for Jan back from 1978 – 1981 and she was a gas to work for… and with. I’m sorry to see the dinner theater’s gone, but very happy to see that Jan’s still going strong. I always wish her all the best.
Hi Mr. and Mrs. Thorne,
So nice to see this information on you with the opera society. I hope you and your family are doing well now that you have retired. Bill and I are both retired and living in Broward County. Bill has been retired for 11 years after 20 years with Publix and I with Plastic Components retired for 3 years after 24 years with this company. I enjoyed working with you for the years we were together and celebrating the birth of our only daughter Amanda after having three older boys. She is now 31 years old.
Thanks for the start in the manufacturing career I have retired from. Many happiness to you and yours in the future. You deserve it.
Fondest Regards,
Karen Moore, former employee
I have been great friends with Jan for over twenty years. She is timeless in her beauty, not only outwardly but beautiful in her heart as well. I have had a million wonderful evenings and the funnest times with this gal. I miss you sweet girl, will see you in Boca soon. You are the best, Jan
Dear People:
I’m a long-time-ago friend of Bob Herman’s from the days when he worked with Mr. Bing and even for a time I’d see him when he flew to NYC when he was with the FGO. (He knew me under my American name, James Ballard, instead of my Russian one).
He and I have completely lost track of each other and I wondered if you could connect us, or you could provide any information as to what he is up to. I happened to find Mr. Bing’s second book, which Mr. Bing had so kindly given me in 1981 with many references to Bob in it and I’d love to speak of old times at the Met and his personal life with Bob.
Any help you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
I’m writing on behalf of Martha and Sonia from Ballet Concerto. We are trying to contact Ms. Drucker to invite her to the 50th Anniversary event of the foundation of Ballet Concerto. Ms. Drucker was a very big supporter of the company and Martha and Sonia have asked that we try and reach her to inviter her to this event that will be held on June 18th at the Gansevoort Hotel on Miami Beach. Please feel free to contact me directly at the above email or via mobile phone at 305-951-6276. We greatly appreciate your assistance in providing her with this message.

Yesterday we had been to the Young Artist Recitals at the Museum of Art and we had a fabulous afternoon. First, we were surprised it was for free – thanks to you – second, we got to enjoy listening to a lot of young talents, to great music, and on top of it a visit to the Museum of Art.
Thank you very much and thanks to all involved in this great afternoon
Joo Won Kang is a great Rigoletto: He displays an immense voice with terrifying fury in “Cortigiani” and a voice full of tender warmth in “Piangi, fanciulla.” I expect that he will become a great interpreter of the baritone repertoire.
Dear Jan,
It is wonderful to to know that all is well with you.
Perhaps you will remember me, I was in your production of
“JERRY’S GIRLS” many years ago. This was a great highlight for my career, I so loved your theater. For the last 20 years, I have been living in France & Switzerland, teaching and performing. Wishing you continue success!!

Dear Mrs. Robinson, it is wonderful to see this picture of yours plus to read the article about you and your family. I remember quite well. I am that girl (much older now, 59) who lived with all of you (1977-78), babysat your kids. From Brazil, remember? I was very blessed to have lived there with you and your family. You were very good to me as I pursued my dreams in US in order to learn English well and be successful. I still live in Brazil teaching English, Portuguese and Sign Language to several people. Thank you for making it possible for me. You will always be remembered with my heart filled with thankfulness. Congratulations on your career and performance. Sonia Florindo
Reading your list of accomplishments is truly inspiring, Ms. Mcart! I had the honor of working at your theater in the late ’80’s, when I was just starting out in show biz. I was dance captain for the Royal Palm’s highly successful production of “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?” It was a wonderful experience where I met great people, some of whom remain dear friends, to this day. Now a published romance writer (pen name Shara Bloodstone), I also dance and teach fitness on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
Kudos to you for your passion, drive and success. I wish you all the best!
I’m going back to when my husband, Dick Morris & I & our college chum, Billy Orhlein, shared wonderful times together with you & Bill in Boca. The last time we were all together was at Bill’s shockingly sad but beautiful funeral. Dick & I celebrated our 5oth anniversary 3 years ago; 5 months later, he was gone. We used to reflect often of those good times spent with you & Bill. Time marches on, but it does not heal.
Can you please tell me how I can purchase tickets to this event? Just to confirm the SunSentinel states the fee is $30 per person.
My mom is a very big fan of Placido Domingo and I would love to surprise her with tickets.
Thank you,

FGO and The Opera Society have a strict mask requirement. Masks must be worn to protect your friends, neighbors, family and musicians in case you have the virus and are asymptomatic, so you don’t infect them.
Wearing a mask is unselfish and neighborly. Wearing a mask protects our community and reduces the impact of the pandemic on first responders, hospitals and contact tracers.
If you do not follow rules established by The Opera Society to wear masks, you will be denied entry and/or asked to leave. You will not be refunded. Musicians and singers will not perform unless all audience members are wearing masks.
Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth at all times. Attendees from different households must stay 6 feet apart. No contact between members of different households.
Sit only in designated seats. Take your seat immediately. No standing or table hopping. Masks required while sitting and may only be removed to eat or drink. Replace mask after taking a bite or a sip.
The favors were lovely thanks to Chairman Ande Mayhue and many people went home with an orchid centerpiece at a very reasonable price!!
